چکیده
Incomplete cancellation of collinear antiparallel spins gives rise to ferrimagnetism. Even if the oppositely polarized are owing equal number a single magnetic element having same valence state, in principle, ferrimagnetic state can still arise from crystallographic inequivalence host ions. However, experimental identification such as ``ferrimagnetic'' is not straightforward because often tiny magnitude expected for $M$ and requirement sophisticated technique differentiate similar sites. We report synchrotron-based resonant x-ray investigation at Fe ${L}_{2,3}$ edges on an epitaxial film $\mathrm{Ca}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$, which exhibits two phases with energies. find that while one phase $\mathrm{Ca}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$ antiferromagnetic, other arrangement between distinct sites very local coordination environments. Our results further indicate origins overall minute $M$; intrinsic, ${\mathrm{Fe}}^{3+}$ sites, extrinsic, arising defective ${\mathrm{Fe}}^{2+}$ likely forming weakly coupled clusters. These uncorrelated have different coercive fields. Hence, this work provides direct demonstration ferrimagnetism solely due origin weak $\mathrm{Ca}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$.

Volume anomaly in ferrimagnetism
2014 The volume anomaly 0394V/V due to the magnetic energy corresponding to the exchange interactions is experimentally determined for YIG. The experimental values (from 77 K to Tc) agree with the values deduced from the theoretical expression based on the Néel’s theories of volume anomaly and of ferrimagnetism. These results are compared with those obtained by other authors on ferromagnetic an...

متن کاملFerrimagnetism of MnV(2)O(4) spinel.
The spinel MnV(2)O(4) is a two-sublattice ferrimagnet, with site A occupied by the Mn(2+) ion and site B by the V(3+) ion. The magnon of the system, the transversal fluctuation of the total magnetization, is a complicated mixture of the sublattice A and B transversal magnetic fluctuations. As a result, the magnons' fluctuations suppress in a different way the manganese and vanadium sublattice m...
متن کاملUnveiling hidden ferrimagnetism and giant magnetoelectricity in polar magnet Fe2Mo3O8
Magnetoelectric (ME) effect is recognized for its utility for low-power electronic devices. Largest ME coefficients are often associated with phase transitions in which ferroelectricity is induced by magnetic order. Unfortunately, in these systems, large ME response is revealed only upon elaborate poling procedures. These procedures may become unnecessary in single-polar-domain crystals of pola...
متن کاملFerrimagnetism in GdCo(12-x)Fe(x)B6.
The effects of iron substitution on the structural and magnetic properties of the GdCo(12-x)Fe(x)B6 (0 ≤ x ≤ 3) series of compounds have been studied. All of the compounds form in the rhombohedral SrNi12B6-type structure and exhibit ferrimagnetic behaviour below room temperature: T(C) decreases from 158 K for x = 0 to 93 K for x = 3. (155)Gd Mössbauer spectroscopy indicates that the easy magnet...
